Gin Wigmore performed her song on Ellen yesterday after releasing her album in the United States.

Singer Gin Wigmore was grinning from ear to ear during her performance on the hugely popular talkshow Ellen this week.

Her 2011 album, Gravel & Wine, was released in the United States this week and the 26-year-old singer's broad smile was the first thing stateside fans saw after the comedian welcomed her to the studio "all the way from New Zealand", likening her to Amy Winehouse and Pink.

The Ellen show has a worldwide audience of more than 16 million people and screens in 23 countries.

After Wigmore performed Black Sheep from the album, Ellen hugged the tattooed Kiwi songstress, congratulated her on the song and urged the audience to go out and buy the album.

Wigmore was irrepressible on her Facebook page, loading the link, pictures of her in makeup, and her band gearing up for the performance. She told fans she was happy to finally be touring the album in America.

"America!!! F ... Yeah! Gravel & Wine is OUT!!!! Play it loud from the rooftops, your car, your walkman, your grandma's house, the schoolyard!

"Most of all, Enjoy it. It has been a LONG time coming getting this release, so I thank you sincerely for your patience and continued support with my music. Much love to you all xx."

Wigmore is also set to appear on Jay Leno's The Tonight Show.
