I took my 6 friends to Nandos and we had a lovely time good service really good food and the guy there was very helpful, he gave us great service I was really surprised how good it was.

I am really disappointed with this Nandos that I feel is letting down the franchise. I have given it many chances but will not go back. The lady at the counter was moody and rude and did not take our order correctly (something that happened in the past). Although the restaurant was not busy, we had to move four times before we found a clean table with no chicken remnants on the seat.

My wife was most anguished to find her mild sauce on her chicken salad blew her throat out. The waitress swore it was mild and would not replace even though my wife has this same salad often with mild sauce. She suggested my wife towel off the sauce and perhaps shake tomato sauce on it. The salad had dry lettuce, some grated carrot, two over ripe and floury cherry tomatos, one slice of cucumber and three olives with stones. Pretty poor for $14. There was no water – we were told we had to buy coke.

We should have known to leave when a guy in front of us left with his coke, having only nibbled on his pita and chips.

Bad food, bad service and unclean.

We were totally gutted to hear your comments, especially as new owners have just taken over.

Assuming one of our friendly, well trained cashiers was having a VERY bad day, it is difficult to believe you had to try four tables. Our policy is to clean and sanitise every table within 5 mins of the guests’ departure. Tables are wiped bench seats are checked, and any scraps spot swept. While there may have been a scrap on the floor at worst, most guests sit on the chairs, making it very difficult for chicken scraps to be on the chairs.

We do wish you had spoken to a manager about all this because it is our policy to immediately replace ANY food that is not up to standard. Of course you cannot ‘towel off’ the sauce. The salad should have been replaced, and we apologise for this miss.

Since your visit, we have changed our veggie suppliers to improve quality. Now we use all local suppliers are prepare salads using veggies fresh from the market that morning. No more cherry tomatoes, but we do leave stones in the olives as that’s how they are naturally.

As far as value goes, we believe we are competitive with stores in other foodcourt situations. Also, ours is healthy eating too. No frozen, not deep fried, etc.
Gluten free is also available.

Responding to the ‘no water’, this is a mystery to us all as it is our standard practice to offer free ice-cold table water to each customer, regardless of whether they purchase a drink or not. I cannot conceive any of our staff saying ‘you must buy a Coke’.

Sorry for the bad experience but 99% of our customers enjoy what we offer and come back for more as we hope to show by asking them to blog this site. Some eat with us every day, some several times a week, etc.

Good food, super service and spotlessly clean!

I eat here regularly despite my very poor opinion of it, only because I get dragged along during some lunch times.

There is only one of the staff that I would highly praise and I will generally always wait for her to take the order, but generally the service here is terrible, numerous times have I seen one of my friends order a vegetarian burger only to be given a chicken buger, its also the only Nandos restaurant that I’ve ever been to that has ran out of periperi salt!?@?!(before lunch time).

If you have a hankering for Nandos you probably don’t have much choice given the Botany/Sylvia Park Nandos are a reasonable drive away, but similiar to other Nandos the food is pretty average and overpriced for what you get.

Went there at about 3pm on Wednesday when rush was very little. Got to say the most horrible service ever experienced. We were waiting at the counter for over 5 minutes until a cashier came. When we ordered our food it came 15 minutes late and were then told that the vege burger that we ordered wasn’t available as it was out of stock, which was really annoying!!! The chicken that came out to us was burnt and the sauce bottle which the cashier had given us had chips stuck inside it….disgusting!!! I would recommend no one to go to Newmarket Nandos. Frankly saying I did not enjoy the meal and service there.
