La Monnaie de Paris

The objective of the partnership between World Heritage Centre and “La Monnaie de Paris” is to develop a coin project with a view to raising awareness about World Heritage. The first series launched in 2007 showcase the Great Wall of China. Two more agreements (2008 and 2009) showcase the Grand Canyon, USA, and the Kremlin, Federation of Russia. A fourth agreement is under preparation for another series illustrating the Taj Mahal, India. It’s a agreement established is a “License Agreement” and the revenues are based on sales and will thus generate royalties for the WH fund. The UNESCO logo exceptionally figures alone due to lack of graphic space.
