Owner Margaret Duncan specializes in restoring vintage veils, but she can also custom-make affordable and beautiful pieces. Bride's Head Revisited

The owners of this small boutique draw upon their art and design backgrounds (both once worked at the Costume Institute of the Met) to create unique headpieces for the style-conscious. They make French veils from $100, crystal combs from $75, and silk flowers from $98. By appointment only.

This milliner boasts celebrity fans like Rihanna and Justin Timberlake. Many of Dina Pisani’s creations are as saucy as the name implies, but there are also prim toppers available for the bride who would rather rock a hat than a veil. Prices start at $200.

This boutique carries creations adorned with handmade flowers and vintage veiling. Most are made by Christine herself, a former costumer who skillfully turns out custom hats and headpieces to brides’ specifications. French veils start at $150.

Go here for elegant, handmade head wraps, headbands, and combs. Behr’s bridal collection features French veils with hand-dyed silk flowers in creams and blush tones, as well feathered versions ($375–$995). All items are made to order; custom work starts at $1,000.
