UNDG Arab States works closely to address development and humanitarian issues in striving to achieve the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and beyond in the region. The work of UNDG Arab States is guided by the Triennial Comprehensive Policy Reviews (TCPRs), the Global UNDG Arab States meetings and the Management and Accountability paper. Overall, UNDG Arab States' work focuses on providing UN Country Teams (UNCTs) with strategic guidance and policy advice, and coherent, coordinated and timely technical support through the established inter-agency Quality Support and Assurance mechanism and oversight through the RC/UNCT Performance Appraisal system. Other areas of focus include Promotion of the UN Reform Process, including lessons learned from the "One UN" pilot countries; Quality Assurance of UNDAFs and CPDs; Promotion of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs); and Oversight through the Performance Appraisal process and strengthened coordination among the agencies.
