Monitoring and Evaluation
The UN Evaluation Group (UNEG) has agreed, in the absence of a UN System Evaluation Mechanism and at the request of the Chief Executives Board (CEB), to undertake an evaluation of the Pilots for Delivering as One UN. This work is led by a Management Group drawn from UNEG members, in consultation with all UNEG Heads of Evaluation.

The first meeting of the Delivering as One (DaO) Monitoring and Evaluation Network took place in Tam Dao (Viet Nam) from 9th to 11th September 2008. Participants from seven pilot countries (except for Cape Verde) , as well as Malawi and Papua New Guinea and representatives from UN DOCO and UNEG (United Nations Evaluations Group) met during two days to share experiences, discuss issues of common concern and bring these up to the attention of Headquarters. This workshop largely touched upon the issues of 1) common reporting, 2) capacity in terms of the M&E; operation and management, 3) evaluation of DaO, and 4) transaction and costs and cost savings.
