United Nations Development Group unite and deliver effective support for countries
In the face of human and avian influenza threat, UN must

1. Minimize impact on the health and safety of staff

2. Maintain and sustain operational capacity

3. Support national preparedness and response

Hence, while UN must support nations in their preparedness plans, it must also ensure its own preparedness and the safety of its staff. To this end, the following resources were created to provide agencies and staff with requisite resources for aiding their preparedness and maintaining their operational capacity in case of a pandemic:

CONOPS

Concept of Operations (CONOPS) is a guiding framework that defines ways in which all elements of the UN System should collaborate with each other in addressing the major challenges that are likely to be posed during different phases of a severe influenza pandemic. Link to the document

Staff Handbook

The Staff Handbook is a comprehensive resource guide for the UN Staff on information regarding avian and human influenza and suggested behaviors in the event of a pandemic. Link to Staff handbook
