Brides can rent out the tiny but elegant space, which has an outdoor patio, from rates starting at $3,000. Expect to spend about an hour with Miska trying different updos during your consultation ($100).

Blowouts are the focus at these poppy salons-although they also do cuts, color, nails, waxing, and makeup. Wedding-day dos start at $125, and the Bubbles ’n’ Blow package enlivens a party’s session with flutes of Prosecco (from $60).

Borja Color Studio

Fans head to this midtown shop for prewedding color overhauls that are known for their natural effect. Cuts are $150; single-process color, $110; highlights, $175 to $250. Borja’s colorists also make house calls (from $400). Bridal updos start at $150.

A Bridal Hair & Makeup Salon by Marina Vance NYC

Formerly with Pierre Michel at Trump Tower, Vance will cut, color, and style the bride’s hair and even apply makeup for the big day ($500 for each service); she’ll also take care of your bridesmaids ($175 for hair, $175 for makeup). There is a team of trained stylists on hand to help.

Bumble and Bumble

Travis Speck is the stylist to see for classic, cool bridal updos at this perennial editors’ favorite. Trial runs and wedding updos start at $350. Bridal party updos start at $150.

Cutler Salon

Rodney Cutler’s low-key salons—favorites for highlights—also deliver unpretentious but well-executed styles. Wedding updos start at $125. The bridal package ($270 to $400) includes a shampoo, blow-dry, styling, and makeup application. A consultation is included; a trial run starts at $125.

Cutting Image Salon

Bridal updos run from $150 to $250. Parties of up to nine can rent the entire salon by the hour, and bridal-party packages start at $100 per bridesmaid for wash, blowout, and updo.

Devachan Salon & Departure Lounge

For best results, these curly-hair specialists cut locks while they’re still dry. They carry their own sulfate-free shampoo, and five of the six lines used in the Departure Lounge spa are organic. Cuts start at $75. Though best known for their work with curls, these pros can handle all types of hair. Bridal updos start at $150.

Dov Salon

Dov’s signature is custom, undetectable hairpieces that make any style look incredibly full. Consultations start at $250; day-of appointments start at $500; hairpiece prices vary.

Eva Scrivo

In Eva Scrivo’s salon, brides kick things off with a trial run that includes hair ($200) and makeup ($125). The cost for a day-of appointment in the salon is $200 to $300 for hair, $125 to $175 for makeup. For Scrivo herself, hair is $500 and makeup is $350.

Frédéric Fekkai

Clients who visit a Fekkai salon are rewarded with soft, understated hairstyles achieved with his much- coveted signature line of products. To prepare for a honeymoon, brides can indulge in the salon’s quickie Beauty Getaway package: 115 minutes for a manicure, pedicure, and bikini wax (from $115). Cuts start at $125; bridal updos start at $325.

Garren New York

The stylists at this gorgeously appointed salon are known for their versatility, but brides who want a classic look should book Jason Quinn for his simple yet elegant updos. For an edgier, retro do, or for those considering extensions, Manabu Unno is the one to see. A consultation is $50; on-site styling is $250.

Hair Rules

Hairstylist Anthony Dickey is a longtime master of kinky, curly, and wavy hair textures, and his skills are on display at his new midtown salon. Bridal trials start at $100, while wedding styles created in the salon are an additional $150 (plus $100 for each additional person), and $300 off-site (plus $175 for each additional person).

Hiro Haraguchi Salon

This minimalist salon is known for its mastery of Japanese straightening and de-frizzing techniques. Bridal updos start at $200, makeup application is $200, and the salon can be rented for "glamour" parties (prices upon request). Hiro and Saturo are the bridal stylists; for great color, ask for Jane or Zane.

John Barrett Salon at Bergdorf Goodman

Clients check in to this bright, glossy salon for classic updos (from $250) and expertly applied makeup (from $250). For $500 per hour, a stylist will come to the wedding. Consultation is included.
