The Government of Uruguay has repeatedly and publicly expressed the value it attaches to the UN’s role as a trusted partner, policy adviser, provider of technical support and implementation partner. With continuing strong emphasis on poverty reduction initiatives since the 1999-2002 economic crises, the Government of Uruguay requested to become a pilot to test out the “Delivering as One” concept. The RC and members of the UNCT are working together closely with the Government on this important initiative which will increase the effectiveness of the UN in Uruguay.
