Quality Support and Assurance

The UN Country Team and its development partners undergo rigorous review and self-assessment to ensure that quality standards are identified, agreed and met for the Common Country Assessment (CCA) and the UN Development Assistance Framework (UNDAF).

A regionally-nominated, inter-agency technical and programme team or Peer Support Group is assigned to each UNCT at the planning stage of their CCA and UNDAF. See Terms of Reference

The work of the Peer Support Group is facilitated by a Convening Agency selected by the Regional Directors. See Terms of Reference

Convening Agency Terms of Reference

Convening Agency:
Oversees the actual support to the UNCT during the CCA/UNDAF process
The convening agency for each region is agreed annually by the Ex Comm Agencies' Regional Directors at their January meeting. Usually, the convening agency responsibility is rotated annually so that each of the four agencies convenes in different regions each year.

Peer Suport Group Terms of Reference

April 2007

Peer Support Group (PSG):
Accompanies and supports UNCTs in their preparations for CCAs and UNDAFs.
Regional Directors nominate staff to serve on the Peer Support Group for one round of CCA and UNDAF preparation in the concerned countries.
