United Nations Development Group unite and deliver effective support for countries
DevInfo and the UNDAF
By collating key human development data and making them easily accessible, DevInfo can be a valuable tool in the process of evidence-based decision-making. In particular, a DevInfo database can contribute greatly to the analysis of country situations, to the identification of national development priorities and to monitoring and reporting.

The flexibility of DevInfo allows UN Country Teams to use it as an umbrella data system for a UN common database. Such a database generally contains the data relevant to conduct comprehensive national analyses such as the CCA, as well as the UNDAF M&E; framework.

A data exchange module, DX UNDAF, is available with DevInfo v6.0 to help Country Teams easily create an UNDAF database in DevInfo. This tool facilitates the transfer of the UNDAF M&E; framework from a formatted MS Excel sheet to a DevInfo database, without having to create a template.

The continued update of the UNDAF database will allow the UN Country Team to use DevInfo as a tool for monitoring the UNDAF and generating annual reports. As a common database containing baseline and other data, the DevInfo UNDAF database facilitates monitoring change and progress towards set targets over time, and can thus help strengthen the UNCT’s monitoring capacity and performance.

Furthermore, the DevInfo Gallery can be used to store key presentations for UNDAF indicators in the form of tables, graphs and maps, and act as a common UN repository of easy access for UNCT staff. Click below to access a short manual on the DX UNDAF module and other relevant documentation.
