The January Cover of Harper’s Bazaar Features Julianna Margulies in a Tight White Halter Dress

Julianna Margulies wears a tight halter dress with a keyhole neckline on the cover of January's Harper's Bazaar, which was shot by Alexi Lubomirski. She looks quite pretty, but the minimal styling doesn't exactly scream high fashion. What do you think? [TFS]

Tom Ford Thinks Fat Women Should Go Naked

Tom Ford once wrote an entire feature story for British GQ Style about how the world should not fear penis imagery but embrace it. "Imagine … if our suits were entirely designed to show off our penises. Imagine if contemporary fashion demanded that you left your cock hanging outside your trousers, with perhaps just the head trussed up in a tiny pouch like a dick bra. Everyone would see our cocks all the time, in the same way that fashion features women's breasts," he wailed of society's double standard. So his latest pontifications on nakedness comes as no shock.

"Fat women almost always look better without the constraint and lumpy pinching of clothes." »

Wendy Nichol Favors Fashion Sweats, Clogs, and Wild Coats

Photo: Melissa Hom

Wendy Nichol is known for her standout leather bags and accent jewelry, from tassel-decked satchels and leopard-print pouches to revamped hoops and studs. The eclectic accessory designer originally studied food and nutrition sciences in college; luckily, she recognized the error of her ways early on. “I would walk past the fashion department and be like, I think I’m in the wrong classroom,” she says. “After graduation, I wasn’t that excited about working in a diabetes clinic, as it turns out.” Instead, she snagged a job as a technical assistant at Club Monaco, where she worked her way through the ranks to become the accessories buyer and designer in four years.

She launched her first eponymous jewelry collection in January 2007, starting with a pyramid cuff hand-sewn from glove leather. Her work with leather led her to launch a small line of handbags in January 2009. “Most bags these days turn me off — they look mass produced, like 200 of them were shipped in plastic with salt packets,” she says. “Ours are cut by hand, so they have a handmade quality to them.” The pouches, satchels, and bucket bags are all made in Nichol’s three-month-old boutique on Sullivan Street. The shop doubles as a studio, where she and four others construct one-off pieces and small-batch collections in back. We caught up with the designer to discuss her traffic-stopping coat collection, top thrifting sources, and more.

Video: Joan Rivers Divulges the Contents of Her Closet!

Joan Rivers has moved in with her daughter, Melissa, while she looks for a place, and naturally the copious contents of her closet are eating her temporary abode alive. "Fashion should always be fun, it should be enjoyed, and if you take yourself too seriously, you're an idiot. That’s why I hate Victoria Beckham," Joan says as she rifles through Valentino jacket after Valentino jacket. "You gotta start hiding, [age] 50 on," she says of her clothing philosophy. "At my age, in my seventies, I’m looking for a beaded burka." She likes sparkle, but nothing too over the top: "I think Lady Gaga looks divine for Lady Gaga. But I don’t want to dress like a toilet-paper cover." See more in the video!

Serena Williams Decorated Her Injured Foot With Crystals

Serena Williams hobbled into an Art Basel party in Miami Beach this past weekend with her foot in a cast due to recent surgery. Not one to miss any opportunities for extra bling, she bedazzled the cast herself with Swarovski crystals, presumably putting her nail-art skills to good use. "I am trying to make the most out of a bad situation," she explained. [Page Six/NYP]

Keira Knightley Wears a Flower Choker and Polka Dots on the New Cover of British Vogue

Shot by Mario Testino, the January cover of Vogue U.K. features Keira Knightley reclining on a white sofa. Her hair is waxed up in feathery pieces and her neck is obscured by a large red flower choker, which is actually a necklace with a clip-on corsage by British trimmings-maker V.V. Rouleaux. She's wearing a polka-dot chiffon halter-neck dress by Dolce & Gabbana. Do you like the black, white, and red palette, or is it too Minnie Mouse–esque? [Vogue UK]

Auction House Hopes to Make $9,000 Off Queen Elizabeth II’s Underpants

Miami playboy "Baron" Joseph de Bicske Dobronyi came into the underwear when a friend found them on a private plane the queen took to Chile in 1968. How she managed to leave her underpants behind remains unclear, but they bear her royal embroidery. Joseph passed away over the summer, and the underwear is going to an auction house that hopes to make $9,000 off them. And while the drawers are yellowed, they are only slightly stained. If you can't afford them, you can get something similar at American Apparel. [TMZ]

The 35-year-old actress says: "I haven't had anything done and I don't think I will. But if it makes somebody happy then that's up to them. I'm not in somebody else's skin to know what makes them feel better about themselves. But I don't plan to do it myself." [Us Weekly]

Here Is a Really Disturbing Story About Online Shopping

Photo: DecorMyEyes.com

DecorMyEyes.com is a website run by Vitaly Borker that purports to sell luxury eyewear. If you think the site, pictured here, looks too creepy and shady to shop from, the authorities would give credence to your suspicions! Also known as “Tony Russo” and “Stanley Bolds,” the 34-year-old Borker was arrested at his home in Brooklyn yesterday for allegedly fraudulently selling counterfeit and inferior quality goods, making unauthorized charges, and being generally totally creepy.

Jessica Simpson’s Fashion Empire Is About to Break $1 Billion

While many celebrity clothing lines come and go like dead leaves on the sidewalk, at least one is making so much bank it's practically depressing: Jessica Simpson. Retail sales of her fashion items, which now encompass shoes, accessories, outerwear, bathing suits, fragrance, and watches, totaled $750 million this year. This makes her that rare diva that is, in at least one category, outperforming even Madonna. "People look at her as a style icon," explains Vince Camuto, the main licensee for Simpson-branded merchandise.
