Kid Cudi on 'One Tree Hill' and Other Bizarre Musician TV Cameos

by PopEater Staff, posted Dec 25th 2010 3:00PM
Kid Cudi on 'One Tree Hill' and Other Musicians on Bizarre TV ShowsThere's no other show on TV more perfect for musicians to guest star on than 'Glee' -- but it isn't the only show our favorite artists are angling to snag a cameo on. Some make sense, like Britney on 'Glee,' but others are just flat out bonkers -- like Boy George on 'The A-Team' or, more recently, rapper Kid Cudi appearing on The CW's yes-it's-still-on 'One Tree Hill.'

There have been a lot of head-scratchers over the years. It's crazy and oddly amusing at the same time, so check out our list of the most bizarre musician TV cameos after the jump.

Awww! See a 12-Year-Old Lea Michele in Old Documentary Footage

by PopEater Staff, posted Dec 25th 2010 10:00AM
Lea MicheleWhat was 'Glee' star Lea Michele like back in 1998? Well, a lot like her character, Rachel Berry. Twelve years ago a pair of filmmakers made a documentary about kids in the entertainment business. Back then, Michele was starring in Broadway plays. A portion of the documentary hit YouTube and it's adorable.

Michele, who at the time was well known in theater circles for her role in Broadway's 'Les Miserables,' talked about surviving the "really tough dog-eat-dog business" of Broadway.

"Being in the business has kind of made me grow up so fast," said little Michele. "Everyone says 'You're so mature' ... I can do anything! And that's how I, you know, stay sane."

'The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' Season 1, Episode 10 Recap

by Rebecca Adler Warren, posted Dec 24th 2010 11:03AM
'The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills'['The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills'- 'Payback's a Bitch...Just Ask Your Husband']

On this week's episode of 'The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,' the ladies attempted to recover from Camille's disastrous dinner party with a handful of lunch dates, some good old fashioned trash talking and a roaring twenties soiree.

Everyone reacts to conflict differently. Some, like Adrienne, rise above it. Others, like Kim, suffer from PTSD. And yet there's always that one wily woman who needs it to feed her soul. That woman, of course, is Camille.

The brick oven pizza crumbs had barely settled before Camille shot Kyle a text, which a lesser 'Housewives' fan might describe as the final nail in the friendship coffin.

Kathy Griffin the Cockroach: 'I'm Just Going to Outlast Everybody'

by PopEater Staff, posted Dec 24th 2010 10:30AM

Seeing as Kathy Griffin was unceremoniously fired from hosting CNN's New Year's Eve show with Anderson Cooper after last year's F-Bomb drop, it's a wee bit surprising that she's back at the gig for this year's countdown. The flame-haired comedienne dished to us about working with "the world's Anderson Cooper," why she hopes Miley Cyrus has started a salvia trend and, yes, her nemesis Bristol Palin.

Weren't you fired from CNN's New Year's show?
Yes, I was fired. They issued a statement. I was banned from CNN, and then as Anderson Cooper says, 'There was a change in management,' which was great because the guy who fired me got fired. So being the cockroach that I am, I'm just going to outlast everybody. That's my career philosophy; it's not a very deep one. I basically have the survivor moniker in my life, which is "outlast, outwit, outplay," that's what I've done with the management at CNN.

'Top Chef All Stars' Eliminated Chef: 'Sabotage Is Such A Strong Word'

by Allison Waldman, posted Dec 23rd 2010 5:00PM
top_chef_all_stars_bravo_logoAs this season unwinds, it seems 'Top Chef All Stars' is getting more difficult to predict. The episode last night was as tight as a U.S. Open tennis match, which was apt considering that the chefs were asked to create hearty and healthy dishes at the Queens tennis center and serve them to the judges right on center court.

Give credit to the Magical Elves production team for the creative competition, pitting the two teams of chefs (picked at random) in a game of culinary tennis. The members of the team that failed to score a point wound up the losers.

by Jean Bentley, posted Dec 23rd 2010 4:00PM
Feats of StrengthSince we've already aired our grievances (with the help of Gillian Jacobs and Nick Offerman), we've got one component of Festivus yet to fulfill: the Feats of Strength. It's a little hard to wrestle over the internet, so instead we're going to do it the easy way -- by watching other people do it.

Below, enjoy a clip of a professional strong man performing feats of strength during an episode of 'America's Got Talent.' Hopefully it'll inspire you to do some heavy lifting at home -- or at least start crying and then tackle your dad.

So, as the the esteemed Frank Costanza might say, "Stop crying and fight your father."

Could '16 and Pregnant' Help Prevent Teen Pregnancy?

by Jean Bentley, posted Dec 23rd 2010 2:00PM
'16 and Pregnant'One of the biggest criticisms from opponents of MTV's docu-series '16 and Pregnant,' which follows high school-age girls as they prepare to become mothers, is that it glamorizes teen pregnancy. But according to a new theory from the Christian Science Monitor, the show is actually doing the exact opposite.

A new report from the National Campaign notes that although teens view parental influence as the number one factor in preventing teen pregnancy, an astonishing 82 percent say '16 and Pregnant' "helps them better understand the challenges of teen pregnancy and parenthood -- and why they should avoid it."

"Entertainment media is one of the nation's favorite punching bags, but we have to acknowledge that when we're talking about teen pregnancies media can be and often is a force for good," said Bill Albert, a spokesman for the National Campaign.
