After the Alaska Supreme Court ruled against him Wednesday, Joe Miller's dream of being a senator appears to finally be over. Miller, who lost to Senator Lisa Murkowski in November, was appealing the validity of write-in votes that did not spell her name correctly. Miller hoped that with stricter guidelines he might be able to make up the 8,000 vote margin that separated the two candidates. The court decision said that there "are no remaining issues raised by Miller that prevent this election from being certified." Miller had defeated Murkowski in the state's Republican primary in August, but the senator chose to continue her campaign as a write-in candidate.
