Although I'm not of Italian descent, I think pasta is one of the most comforting dishes out there. After a long weekday, there's nothing like coming home to a steaming bowl of luscious noodles in a rich and flavorful sauce.
My favorite pasta of all time could very well be this creamy sun-dried tomato and bacon spaghetti.

In the Fall, when the pears are plentiful, I enjoy experimenting with new pear preparations. Doesn't this one for a pear pizza sound scrumptious and interesting? It's not a sweet dessert pie, but a savory entree that makes for a delicious dinner.

Back in 2008, we dubbed bacon the trendiest ingredient of the year. Since then, it seems the culinary world has gone bananas for bacon. There's bacon ice cream, bacon-flavored mayonnaise, even bacon bookmarks!

When an unrelenting craving hits, there's only one thing to do: satisfy it. For days now, I've had a hankering for red, or tomato-based, clam chowder, laden with chunks of celery, and chewy, briny clams. Tonight, I'm going to address it with a quick, scrumptious, and healthy version of the Manhattan specialty.

It could be because it's National All-American Breakfast month, but lately I've been really into making breakfast. There are so many different things one can enjoy first thing in the morning: eggs, bacon, pancakes, toast, fruit, etc. The possibilities are seriously endless!

One thing you won't find in my refrigerator is bottled salad dressing. I prefer to make my own vinaigrettes with garlic, mustard, and whatever vinegar I have on hand. If you know the simple proportions of oil to acid, then you can experiment with all sorts of ingredients, as is the case with this recipe that incorporates bacon.

Recently I came across a really interesting Rick Bayless recipe for bacon guacamole. At first I thought, that can't be right. Rick Bayless doesn't really seem like an everything-tastes-better-with-bacon sort of guy.

San Francisco's Humphry Slocombe is famous for its Secret Breakfast ice cream, which divinely combines corn flakes and bourbon.
Curious what other breakfasty ice creams I might eat, I stumbled on this maple almond bacon ice cream on Flickr, garnished with a hearty side of bacon.

In my humble opinion, the grilled cheese sandwich is a perfect dish. It's comforting, nostalgic, delicious, warm, gooey, and crispy — all at the same time. There's only one ingredient that could take such a flawless sandwich to a whole new level: bacon.
