Michelle Obama Wears Norman Norell Vintage Gown for Christmas Special
According to the Huffington Post, Obama chose a festive black lace design in a 50's silhouette by the late American designer Norman Norell, which came from iconic Manhattan shop New York Vintage. (Read about Tory Burch's fondness for Norell's designs).
"[This is] truly an historic event, as this may be the first time a First Lady has worn a vintage dress," New York Vintage's co-owner Jon Schneck, tells the Huffington Post, adding that Obama has plans to incorporate more vintage pieces from their collection into her wardrobe. "Other dresses from the archive have been scheduled for use by the First Lady later this year."
Obama paired the pristine historic piece, which has a square neckline and a slightly low back, with large silver statement earrings and a sleek hairdo.
Oldest daughter Malia matched her mom in a tiered black dress, while Sasha opted for a navy and silver polka dot number and President Obama in a slim navy suit with a burgundy tie.
See them all on screen tonight when the holiday musical, hosted by Ellen DeGeneres, premieres at 8/7c on TNT.
