Prince Jefri Bolkiah of Brunei, the younger brother of current Sultan of Brunei Hassanal Bolkiah, was suing two of his financial advisers for selling off a Long Island estate for less than he thinks it was worth and "engaging in misconduct to enrich themselves." The North Shore estate in question was also where Jefri stored six life-size erotic statues of himself and his fiancée, one of many women in his harem. He didn't want the statues to be used in the trial over the estate because they could prejudice the jury, and frankly, even for someone named Prince Jefri Bolkiah of Brunei, they're sort of tacky. Photos of the statues were reportedly never brought into the courtroom, after all, but they did leak all over the Internet. So, there's that. But the case was settled today, and the prince lost: The husband-and-wife legal team, Faith Zaman Derbyshire and Thomas Derbyshire, were awarded more than $20 million, since the lawyers said Jefri owed them millions of dollars in fees. The jury also awarded about $54,000 to Prince Jefri from the Derbyshires for financial misconduct, though.
