Back in September Grub Street wrote that Yards vet Johnny “Carwash” Della Polla had purchased the former Lyons Den near Second and Moyamensing and planned to reopen it as Kennett. The restaurant and bar had a soft opening last night, according to the Beer Lass, and will open for real tomorrow. The restaurant and bar features 16 taps devoted to mostly local and craft beers, and a menu that offers small plates, like cheese and charcuterie as well as burgers, sandwiches and entrees. The wood fired pizzas we told you about earlier? They are supposedly coming soon. Bartender extraordinaire, Phoebe Esmon — whom we chatted with back in August for Behind Bars — and her better half, Noble bartender Christian Gaal, developed the cocktail list.
