'Queer As Folk' Cast: Where Are They Now?

Queer As FolkThe groundbreaking American version of 'Queer as Folk' ran for five seasons (the U.K. original aired for 10 episodes), and, with Dec. 3 marking 'Queer as Folk's' 10th anniversary, we're taking the opportunity to check in with what the show's stars have been up to since 'Queer As Folk' wrapped in 2005.

The British original -- created by 'Doctor Who' revival creator Russell T. Davies -- starred future 'Undeclared' and 'Sons of Anarchy' star Charlie Hunnam and 'The Wire' scene stealer Aidan Gillen and debuted in 1999.

And the American remake, starring Gale Harold, Hal Sparks, newbie Randy Harrison and Emmy-winning TV vet Sharon Gless -- followed the next year, and made a splash on Showtime with its randy, funny tales (and very graphic sex scenes) about the loves and lives of a group of gay Pittsburgh pals.

'Bosom Buddies' Cast: Where Are They Now?

Bosom BuddiesWhen I first moved to New York, I lived in a building called The Webster, a professional-women-only building where, for reals, dudes were not permitted past the lobby, and enforcement of that rule was taken seriously.

It was clean, affordable and made the big city a little less scary for a newbie, and when I would tell friends about the place, I eventually shorthanded the description to, "You know, it's like on 'Bosom Buddies.'"

There were no men in disguise hanging at The Webster -- as far as I knew, anyway -- but that idea made for the high-concept, charming, sadly short-lived sitcom 'Bosom Buddies,' the show that sparked the careers of Tom Hanks and Peter Scolari (who, let's be honest, while charming, also made for two of the more unattractive men in drag ever).

Days of Our LivesHappy 45th Birthday, 'Days of Our Lives'! In a daytime TV landscape where even decades-old classics aren't necessarily safe from the chopping block, the sand in 'DOOL's' hourglass has kept on falling, making the show currently the second-longest running soap opera on TV (after 'General Hospital').

In honor of that feat, and the drama's birthday this past Nov. 8 (which also marked the first day the soap will be broadcast in HD), we're catching up with some of the show's biggest stars of the past (and, given the show's habit of bring former Salemites home, probably the future, too).

    Scrubs cast
It's a very 'Scrubs'-y night on ABC tonight: Neil Flynn is one of the best, least-cliché dads on the tube in the sitcom 'The Middle' (8PM ET), and at 9:30PM, 'Scrubs' creator Bill Lawrence's newest creation, 'Cougar Town,' hits the air with a Halloween-themed episode which includes 'Scrubs' alum (and Lawrence's real-life wife) Christa Miller, 'Scrubs' guest star Courteney Cox and, in a special guest appearance, 'Scrubs' star Ken "Dr. Kelso" Jenkins as the Halloween-lovin' father of Cox's Jules.

    Ed cast
Last week marked the 10th anniversary of 'Ed,' which certainly has a plum spot on our list of great shows that were canceled too soon. The fine dramedy that revolved around a barrister/bowling alley proprietor and his quirky fellow Stuckeyville-ians premiered on NBC on Oct. 8, 2000. And though its four seasons whizzed by all too quickly, we can't say we hardly knew ye, 'Ed' ... in fact, we knew ye, and loved ye, quite well.

'The Andy Griffith Show' Cast: Where Are They Now?

Andy Griffith Show'The Andy Griffith Show' is one of the most beloved TV sitcoms of all time. Originally televised on CBS from Oct. 3, 1960 to Apr. 1, 1968, the show ended its final season at No. 1 and consistently ranked in the top 10. More recently, the show has taken on a new life in TV Land reruns.

Andy Griffith had already made a name for himself in movies like 'A Face in the Crowd' and 'No Time for Sergeants,' when he agreed to star in his own TV show as the widowed Sheriff Andy Taylor, who didn't have to carry a gun in the small country town of Mayberry, N.C.

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of 'The Andy Griffith Show,' we thought we'd catch up with the cast members -- arguably the best character actors in the business -- who appeared on the show over the years, and who'll be forever embedded in the minds and memories of millions of Mayberry fans.

West Wing castOnce you enter 'The West Wing,' you never really leave.

The cast members of the award-winning NBC drama, which premiered 11 years ago on Sept. 22, 1999, can't seem to let each other go -- they've often paired up on other shows since the series ended in 2006.

Interestingly, many of these pairings have taken place in shows on the USA network. Maybe it's due to the drama's huge cast of regulars and recurring characters, the stranglehold NBC Universal had on these actors, or the fact that they all liked working with each other.

So, where is the cast of 'The West Wing' now? Doing a lot of television and, as usual, pairing up. Here's a breakdown:

TGIFOscar winners George Clooney and Mel Gibson (in 'Baby Talk' and 'Complete Savages') ... 'Friends' star Matthew Perry (in 'Home Free') .... 'Chuck' leading man Zachary Levi (in 'Less Than Perfect') ... they were all adult members of ABC's "TGIF" lineup of Friday night family sitcoms.

But what we remember most from those Friday nights in front of the tube? The younger cast members -- Urkel, the Tanner kiddies, the Mowry twins. They kept us tuning in season after season (the block ran on ABC from 1988-2000 and 2003-2005), and what has inspired this look at where the real stars, the TGIF kids, are now ...

'Northern Exposure' Cast: Where Are They Now?

Northern Exposure CastThe summer has traditionally been a time when television reverts to reruns and an occasional fill-in series that rarely runs beyond Labor Day. In 1990, however, CBS premiered a new comedy-drama show that was definitely not the run-of-the-mill summertime fare. In fact, 'Northern Exposure' was a pioneer in many ways, ushering in the era of dramedy -- the blend of drama and comedy -- that is so popular today.

From the moment it debuted on July 12, 1990, until it ended its run on July 26, 1995, 'Northern Exposure' was something special, and a large part of that success was due to the cast. The show was a launching pad for some of the younger actors, and a showcase for many others. On the anniversary of the show's premiere, we decided to catch up with the cast.

Everwood'Everwood' was one of the WB's most beloved family dramas. The series followed Dr. Andy Brown and his two kids, Ephram and Delia, as they adjusted to their life in Everwood, a small Colorado hamlet, after the death of Julia Brown. To honor his wife's wishes, Dr. Brown left his high-profile medical career and transplanted his kids from New York City to Everwood.

The series ran for four years; it met its end when WB/UPN merged in 2006. When word came of the cancellation, 'Everwood' fans rallied to save their show and erected a Ferris wheel in Los Angeles to mimic the series finale.

'Everwood' has been slowly released on DVD. The most recent set, season 3, hit shelves on June 15, five years after it aired. Tell me I'm not alone in 'Everwood' nostalgia and join me for a return to the sleepy Colorado town with this "Where Are They Now?" (Cue the swelling piano and violin cords of the theme song.)

Courteney Cox and Jennifer AnistonIn January, we ran an item ranking the career paths of the 'Friends' cast members since the show ended in 2004. Back then, the only solid news we had was the early renewal of Courtney Cox's 'Cougar Town.' Meanwhile, there was some speculation on new TV projects coming up from Matthew Perry, Lisa Kudrow, and Matt LeBlanc.

Turns out five months makes a lot of difference! Since that time Perry, Kudrow, and LeBlanc have all been given greenlights for their shows. Over the next year, four out of the six 'Friends' cast members could have programs on either the major networks or pay cable.

Here's an updated status of who's involved where, plus some additional information on the supporting characters that were connected with the show during its decade on the air.
