Adeline Adeline brings the romance of European bicycling in cities like Copenhagen, Amsterdam, and Paris, to the streets of New York. The bikes, though new, are modeled after vintage 70s-era Schwinns. Inspired by the comfort and style of Euro-style cycles, graphic designer Julie Hirschfeld opened the shop in June 2010. Models from European companies like Pashley, Abici, and Retrovelo run between $500 to $2,000, while the US-made Linus bikes can be had for around $400. And though the shop caters to women, the selection includes bikes for both sexes, along with accessories like bags, horns, helmets, and bicycle seats. After browsing the curvy, colorful stash, Hirschfeld encourages potential buyers to take one on a test run through the streets of Tribeca.
