Brooklyn Law Officials 'Scandalized' By Diesel Photo Shoot They Commissioned in Their Own Library

One of the ads in question.

Officials at the prestigious Brooklyn Law School rented the school's library to the fashion brand Diesel for an undisclosed fee, "expecting a tasteful photo shoot," because apparently they've never seen a single Diesel ad, and didn't bother to Google it. Shocking: True to its brand, Diesel's resulting ads aren't even Dolce & Gabanna-style suggestive, they're just quirky soft-core porn stills. In this case, the images are a whole bunch of campy, fairly cute library fantasies, featuring "students" wearing underwear reading "Tonight I am your teacher," and mounting each other on bookshelves. (See diagram.) One would think a place like Brooklyn Law might welcome this sexy attention, but no! Some uptight students now claim the ads are "gross" and "embarrassing," and the school might sue the brand. It's not yet determined whether the ads will even run outside the Diesel website, since Brooklyn Law claims they're a breach of contract.

Interim dean Michael Gerber is displeased. »

Lady Gaga to Appear on the March Cover of Vogue?

Due to Just Jared's advertising structure, this same cover is awesomely captioned with "get the look" on that site. Ooh ooh we know! Gristede's!!!

Lady Gaga will appear on the March 2011 spring fashion issue of American Vogue, according to JustJared.com's sources. Mario Testino is reportedly shooting the cover "overseas later this month." It would have seemed a cover was in Gaga's future after she shot the Hansel and Gretel–inspired spread for the December 2009 issue. However, after that she performed at the Met Ball, where she missed the red carpet only to have Oprah and Terrence Koh coax her out of her dressing room, leaving Anna Wintour to complain on national television about how that weirdo Lady Gaga inconvenienced the whole affair by spending 45 minutes in there "communing with God." Then Gaga performed at the gala and told the crowd about how Anna Wintour asked her not to swear, and then said, "I will do my [bleep]-ing best!" After that sources were abuzz that Wintour was none too pleased with Gaga's involvement in her ball and wasn't likely to put her back in Vogue anytime soon. Also, Gaga's most notable fashion moments in recent memory were the times she's worn raw meat. So yeah, her Vogue cover seemed much less of a sure thing after all those things happened. However, she could really use someone like Anna to tell her not to wear things that were once alive and could start growing bacteria and other microorganisms and offend the olfactory senses of the people standing around them. Maybe it's time someone put her in a proper — even boring — ballgown.

Eva Mendes Wore a Dress From Prada’s Spring 2011 Collection Just Seven Weeks After the Show

Photo: Carlos Alvarez/Getty Images

Eva Mendes wore a strapless dress from Prada's spring 2011 collection, which was shown a mere seven weeks ago in Milan, to a photo call in Madrid for her new movie, The Other Guy. She wore no jewelry (small ring excluded), kept her hair sleek and simple, and accessorized with towering black peep-toe Mary Janes.

What do you think of this dress on Eva? Should she have accessorized it more?

Emma Watson and Alberta Ferretti Are Making a Jane Birkin–Inspired Organic Clothing Line Together

It's true what they say: Young people do change, and Taylor Momsen is not the only case study that would prove it. Take Emma Watson's relationship, as a celebrity, to designing clothing, which has changed as we've watched her grow up over the years. At first it was, "I’m really not interested in doing it for my own ego. I’m not a designer. If someone asked me to do something that was beneficial to a cause, then maybe I’d consider it." Then she became the face of Burberry, and then she ended up launching her own clothing line for People Tree, which didn't technically contradict what she had previously said about designing for a cause, since money from the line went to spreading the practice and joy of fair-trade farming. Now Watson is lending her design eye to a high-fashion designer by collaborating with Alberta Ferretti on a Jane Birkin–inspired organic clothing line, she tells Us Weekly. Watson, who declined to reveal the name of the line, said that Ferretti approached her about the project after her People Tree line came out.

"I will work for anyone for free if they are prepared to make their clothing fair trade organic." »

Victoria’s Secret Angel Trainer David Kirsch Won’t Let a Girl’s Quads Get Too Bulky

Kirsch analyzing a Victoria's Secret hopeful.

"When you walk down that runway, you've got a bra and panties on. I want nothing moving that shouldn’t be moving. That means thighs, butt, arms, belly. Millions of eyes are going to be watching that," David Kirsch told last year's Victoria's Secret Model Search finalists. Kirsch, who has trained Angels like Heidi Klum and actresses like Anne Hathaway, was responsible for getting last year's hopefuls into non-jiggly runway shape. Private sessions with Kirsch and the trainers at his gym, the Madison Square Club, can run up to $150 an hour. But starting after Thanksgiving (yes, the timing was on purpose), regular folk can take classes in his gym for $30. The 45-minute session, ten-person max classes include many of the moves Kirsch created for last year's aspiring VS runway models. For example: "Core Blast is a boot camp but with a David Kirsch flavor, very hottie specialized," Kirsch told us. "We’re the master of the ass, so we got a lot of ass work in there."

There are some Thanksgiving eating tips where this came from. »

Reader Look Book: Layer It Up

Photo: Courtesy of Coafa.

Cut reader Coafa gets major points for creativity this week with his feathered V-neck T-shirt, which he hand-plumed himself. He says the look was for Halloween, but we think he should consider wearing it more than once a year. The rest of his outfit is a strong mix of designers like Marc Jacobs and Rad Hourani, with a few items from H&M.;

The rest of this week's Reader Look Book showed that y'all have been layering lots of long sweaters for fall. Next week, let's see your best jewelry combinations. Holiday-party season is approaching, so we need to see some bling! Submit your looks using the tool below.

Soho Alliance: ‘The Kardashians Are Attempting to Bring All That Is Wrong With Los Angeles to Soho, as Well as to Their Fans’

The opening night chaos at the store.Photo: Ray Tamarra/Getty Images

Last week, when the Kardashians' Dash boutique opened in Soho, the crowd became so crazed at the prospect of a Kardashian in the flesh that the subsequent riot resulted in arrests, and even Kanye West's luminousness failed to shine through the chaos. Soho residents are not happy with the havoc wrought on their neighborhood by the Kardashians' venture.

Sean Sweeney, director of the Soho Alliance, said, “I think it is reprehensible that they would tweet their fans to purposely create this zoo on our streets. They’re lucky no one was injured nor property destroyed. The arrests for disorderly conduct illustrate that the neighbors’ complaints were well-founded.

“The Kardashians are attempting to bring all that is wrong with Los Angeles to Soho, as well as to their fans — a generation of classless, tasteless, and clueless sheep,” Sweeney fumed.

Models Replace Madonna for the Spring Dolce & Gabbana Campaign

After two seasons playing a mom who mops, does dishes, and eats pasta in the Dolce & Gabbana campaigns, Madonna is out — models are in! Fresh off the Victoria's Secret fashion show taping Wednesday night, Izabel Goulart, Isabeli Fontana, Alessandra Ambrosio, and Maryna Linchuk shot the spring 2011 Dolce campaign in New York with Steven Klein on Thursday. Behind-the-scenes images from the shoot don't reveal if more farm-animal wrangling will actually occur in the ads, but you can see shots of models in the wild, eating vegetables and trying on shoes.

Alexander Wang Understands the Perils of Wearing All White

Alexander Wang’s spring collection, like so many of the spring runways, was dominated by white and pale pastels, which is a scary thing when you live in a city full of dirty park benches, grimy subway turnstiles, and jostling crowds who spill their coffee on you and then rush off without so much as proffering a napkin. Wang himself is the first to understand: “It's just more risky to wear something like that, in the sense that you don't want to sit down on the subway and things like that,” he explained at his spring collection trunk show at Barneys last night. “How to keep it clean? I don't know. Carry a Tide pen with you?” He was, however, careful to feature fabrics and prints that could weather the abuse of city living: “Why I mixed it up with some rubber and some prints, and if you get a nick on it or a stain on it, you just play it off like it's been there the whole time.”

Also, his new store will open "sometime next year." »

Naomi Campbell to Wed? On the Nile?

A rumor is going around that Naomi Campbell is planning to marry her smoking billionaire boyfriend, Vladimir Doronin. The wedding will reportedly involve lots of famous people and take place at the ancient Egyptian Temple of Luxor, dedicated to Amun, the God of Sun, located on the Nile. The reports are either too ridiculous to be true or so ridiculous they must be true! [NYP]

Meet the New Girl: Jessica Clarke Is Just Your Average Broke 17-Year-Old

Jessica Clarke (DNA)Photo: Courtesy of DNA/Michael Schwartz

Even before newcomer Jessica Clarke hit a single runway, the industry was abuzz over the New Zealander's undeniable beauty and infectious laugh. Now 17, Clarke is signed with DNA Models in New York, the home of Natalia Vodianova and Raquel Zimmermann. When the 5'11" beauty made the rounds during New York's casting circuit, casting directors Maida Gregori Boina and Rami Fernandes placed Clarke on exclusive for Calvin Klein's Spring 2011 show. That coveted exclusive paved the way for Clarke's bookings overseas, modeling for Dolce & Gabbana, Salvatore Ferragamo, Pucci, and Lanvin. Most recently, Clarke was shot by Mario Testino for D&G;'s upcoming spring campaign.

Highlights From the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show

Last night at the 69th Regiment Armory on Lexington Avenue, the very same venue Marc Jacobs shows each season, Victoria's Secret turned everything pink, red, and gold for the annual holiday marketing push that is the fashion show. Since this is a made-for-television event, the audience seating is very nice and red monotone, lit by matching red lamps, as though it were a Las Vegas showing of girls. And what grand showgirls they were! High kicks the "28 most beautiful women in the world," the announcer told us several times as we waited for showtime, did not do. But they beautifully maneuvered with their monstrously huge wings, without falling or knocking over any props, backup dancers, Katy Perrys, or Akons that made up this year's bra spectacular. Though some of them looked to be leaning forward a little bit to carry all that weight — of the wings, not their own bodies — down the runway. See highlights of the world's most fun annual fashion show in the slideshow!
