Heidi Klum is a woman of her word! At the Los Angeles premiere of the ballet-themed Natalie Portman film 'Black Swan,' designer Mondo Guerra's swan song creation -- a hotly debated polka-dot maxi-dress that he sent down the catwalk in the season 8 finale of 'Project Runway' -- stole the show on the red carpet.
Heidi Klum, 37, slithered into Guerra's black and white design for the event at Grauman's Chinese Theater, and she was all smiles while flaunting the sexy open back and revised (now sleeveless) silhouette.
In the October season finale episode of 'Runway,' Klum was adamant about loving the flamboyant design and wanting to wear it. Her opinion was shared by Jessica Simpson, guest judge for the Fashion Week episode, who said she was "obsessed" with Mondo's dots.
Eventually, the panel came to a consensus as the two other judges, fashion insiders Michael Kors and Nina Garcia (who called Guerra's line "overwhelming") leaned toward championing the subtler collection of Gretchen Jones, a Portland designer with a much earthier style.
Mondo may be having the last laugh now. "As I was packing to come back to Denver my cell phone rang and a bright, cheery, 'Hello' greeted me, with a German accent," he tells People.com. "I wasn't sure who it was, but the next thing I knew, the voice on the other end was asking me, 'Do you have my dress?'"

Next, Guerra scheduled an immediate fitting, then flew to his home in Denver and dashed to a fabric store. "The next morning, I came back to my studio and made the dress, shipped it overnight for early morning delivery," he recalls. "I knew she had received the dress, but was she going to wear it?"
Yes, she did!
Season 8 champ Gretchen Jones recently made a quirky video for Marie Claire magazine, and reflected to TV Guide about her 'Runway' competitor: "What Mondo and I represented were two very different aesthetics and perspectives. And I felt really grateful that Nina and Michael understood where I was coming from. I think they really understood me, not only as a designer, but what I represented in the fashion world. They were [the ones] I really was trying to reach. I knew it was going to be a battle from the minute I met Mondo, and I know both of our futures are bright."

Mondo's looks were fresh and fashionable. Has Heidi worn grentchen's clothes yet?

Too bad she didn't stand up for him in the judging. Mondo was the winner, he is a designer. Gretchen belongs in long psychoanalysis. Her overgrown conceit about herself is really pathetic.

Obviously you didn't watch the finale. Heidi and Jessica were adamant in supporting Mondo. Not for the first time, Micheal Kors brow beat the other judges into submission. Gretchen could have sent potato sacks down the runway and Micheal would have made sure she one. He has done this in past shows, he picks his favorite designer and no matter what he ensures they win.

That dress looked a lot better on the model who wore it on Project Runway...sorry Heidi.

I believe it's the missing sleeves that make you feel that way. The dress is much more striking with the long sleeves. There's definitely nothing wrong with how the dress fits Heidi. Go Mondo and Michael C! I'd buy Michael C's clothes in a second if I had the money.
I think they should have left the arms on, it made it more sophisticated. Heidi you wanted that dress and you got it. I think Mondo will go a long way and Heidi will push for him. Hope to see your clothes Mondo.

love Mondo and all of his designs! Wish he had won instead of Gretchen. That was pretty cool of Heidi to wear his dress!

Mondo was clearly the winner of this season's Project Runway. I do not think that I will watch the next season. Mondo was clearly robbed! Thumbs up to Heidi for supporting Mondo!

Bravo for Heidi and Mondo. He was clearly the winner. His designs and flare for color were fantastic. Gretcen's clothes have all been seen before, in 1960....

more like 1967...to see what women wore in 1960 watch "Mad Men" on AMC.
Swiss Cheese in Black and White: hideous...only a ditz like klump would dare wear such a travesty...

Love the dress, Heidi not so much, her arrogance reeks through anything she wears, she needs to pack up her seal and take a long trip somewhere. Isnt she like 50?

Mondo should have won;he had fresh ideas. I loved the polka dot dress. Gretchen's designs were "been there, done that".
