MARINA DEL REY— This coming November MDR welcomes Jamaica Bay Inn, a newly renovated hotel that is supposedly "modeled after the relaxed style of a West Indies resort." Of course a new eatery, which happens to be located on the beach, is in tow, come to Vū (view) for small plate seasonal California fare. Last month West LA's The Arsenal restaurant and bar temporarily shuttered with plans to reopen following an interior revamp. Here now the first interior shot, clearly new color scheme going on, set to debut October 22 at 5PM. In addition to the venue's new food and drink menus, from October 22-28 The Arsenal will serve a secondary set of eats and sips offered at 1950s prices, nice.

It's a movie theatre chain based in Texas which functions like a restaurant, sit down, pick up a menu, order, meanwhile the movie plays and your food is delivered. On the heels of Friday's news that Anisette's Alain Giraud planned to open a smaller, more casual, affordable French restaurant in the Palisades, Zagat learns that the eatery has been named Maison Giraud to take over Dante Palisades Restaurant on Swarthmore Ave. Apparently prospectuses are being distributed throughout the neighborhood inviting residents to buy $25,000 shares in the restaurant.

Even more pizza appearing in LA. Currently in the works comes Olio Pizzeria on 3rd and Pizzeria Il Fico on Robertson, and now downtownsters can brace for Pizzeria Urbano, a concept conceived by Michael Leko and Peter Gedde. That first name might sound familiar because Leko co-owners Library Bar with Will Shamlian and the two are also working on that new cafe, CoffeeBar. Anyway, Pizzeria Urbano will take over Wolfgang Puck L.A. Bistro at 6th and Hope, and word on the street is that this deal is currently in escrow with Wolfie's slated to shutter in December.
