Drew Barrymore welcomes Fall with a sexy stare on the October cover of Harper's Bazaar. Under Drew's creative direction, the magazine took a trip back in time to the '60s, her favorite era, shooting her in vintage couture gowns from designers like Givenchy, Chanel, Valentino, and Dior. The Going the Distance star just wrapped her promotional tour for the film, and now she's sharing more about her relationship with costar Justin Long, growing up in the spotlight, her newfound independence, and her body image. Drew said:

- On describing herself: "Not ambitious, arrogant, or cold. Lazy? No, I'm not lazy enough. Dominant — more so than people would think. I'm a total control freak and love to participate in the design of every single aspect of life."
- On her costar Justin Long: "He's the cat's pajamas, I couldn't love, respect, admire, and enjoy that individual more than I do. It would be physically impossible for me to have any more giggly joy at this person."
- On her body image: "I feel like some of my baby fat is going away, and that's not just physically, it's psychologically. I think that your body is in tune with your mind and your spirituality and your heart. If things are going better, I just think you look better."
To read what Drew has to say about her independence and her favorite food, just read more.
- On her newfound independence: "I'm really good on my own, I was good in my early teens, and then I got really bad at being alone for like 10 years. And then for the last decade I've developed such a love of my independence that I have to go, 'Okay, you've had dinner by yourself three nights in a row, now you have to see your friends' . . . I just want balance. I think my life has been extremely inconsistent. It just makes me more passionate about it. I never have been insecure, because I see what a waste it is. I know there is a solution to insecurity. I don't tend to be thrown by problems that don't have solutions. And insecurity has a wealth of alternatives."
- Drew on being active: "I actually really love to lie in bed, watch TV, be a total sloth, and eat my favorite food: Kraft macaroni and cheese. Last night I was watching The Next Food Network Star, eating mac and cheese, and feeling grand. And that was after I wore a sequined Givenchy gown with giant holes cut out of it."
she really looks good in those pictures
i don't know if we've really ever seen that
much skin from her in a tasteful way. it's a nice change.
1what did they do to her face???? that does not look like her.
2I agree with ilanac13. Also, she is one of those people who has looked super young forever (like Leonardo Dicaprio) and she's finally growing into a slightly more mature look and it really works for her!
3You can't talk about losing baby fat over the age of 30 unless you've HAD a baby and are trying to lose THAT extra fat. Come on. She's been a grown up for a long, long time. ...she DOES look lovely though, but airbrushing can do that for anyone.
4Does losing baby fat mean plastic surgery?
5I'm over 30 and still feel like a kid.... and look like one.... my face and body doesn't age like normal girls. I need to lose some baby fat too (physically and psychologically lol)... well maybe 5 lbs.
6Smoking hot. Better looking each year. Love the hair.
7Oh goodness. Baby fat also means fat you've had as a child. Chubby kids usually keep a little bit on until puberty.
8She hasn't even mentioned any exercise or diet. This has photoshop written all over it. Her neck has no definition.
9Baby fat? Seriously? She's how old? I think after a certain number of years it's just called fat, not baby fat. And in any case, she never really was fat...except by Hollyweird's impossible standards.
10Good golly miss molly, Drew looks divine! Bazzar Had a huge brain fart with last month's cover, horrible. But one makes up for it. Can't wait to get it in the mail.
11She's beautiful! I hope I can look like that after childbirth one day.
12the exchanges on this post are exactly why men cheat and or tune us out. we ultimately have nothing smart or important to talk about. drew looks good. leave it at that.
13drew is right about when you feel good about yourself all that negative stuff just goes away and being insecure is just a waste of time it takes away your life
14She looks waaaaaaaay too photoshopped in the face.
15Wow, she looks great.
16Being that airbrushed and Photoshopped does not send out a good message about body image. We've all seen her recently, she is NOT as thin as the full length photos would lead you to believe. And that's not a bad thing, the editing done on those photos looks really unnatural. She's much better looking without help.
17The cover doesn't even look like her but the pictures are beautiful.
18she does seem to be getting better and better each year. she says her self that shedding the baby fat wasn't just physical. it was psychological as well. she's grown up and she's a happy person. when you go back and look at how much she has changed, its a huge transformation. i think she's fab and can't wait to see what she's up to next.
