Whilst international fashion weeks are making us look to next season, there is still plenty of time to work on your Autumn/Winter wardrobe. Over the past month, I have been asking the experts about their favourite new season pieces. Today, I caught up with Carven designer Guillaume Henry as he talks us through his favourite Autumn looks. Red lips were huge for Autumn and it looks like the trend is extending in to Spring! This time the the look is full, pouty, and focussed on lush cherry hues. Makeup artists at London Fashion Week have been working a series of volumous scarlet lips, from Giles Deacon's show, to Vivienne Westwood's bevy of rich russet-lipped beauties with gloss heaped on for extra va va voom. Twenty8Twelve and Topshop Unique's 1970s collections also both featured models with full cherry red pouts. The look is a slight departure from last season which was more about being vampy. This feels more youthful and coquettish. Personally, I love it! It's a fab way to add a splash of glamour to your makeup look. Will you be wearing full cherry red lips this Spring?

It felt like everyone was wearing leather at London Fashion Week this season. From skin tight leather trousers to shorts and skirts in the same fabric, it is certainly the fabric du jour. I love the contrast of a leather skater skirt. The fabric is quite rigid, but can look great in pleats. One of my favourites is in the latest H&M ad campaign.
The flared skirt (£24.99) is imitation leather and a complete bargain! I also like the Alice and Olivia pleated skirt (£350) which is great if you have a larger budget. Will you wear a leather skirt this Autumn?
For a few weeks before London Fashion Week kicks off, my postman is a little busier than usual! He brings some very exciting post directly to my door and I couldn't resist sharing some of them with you. The invites come in all different shapes, sizes and colours with some designers being very inventive (check out Mulberry's Spring invitation!). Getting backstage access to the Henry Holland show was a real treat. Although models, editors, photographers and beauty teams were frantically getting ready on a deadline, everyone still looked like they were thoroughly enjoying themselves as they geared up for the 1970's-inspired show. The girls were gorgeous as they walked to music from Studio 54 whilst channeling Brooke Shields' from the 1980 movie, The Blue Lagoon. Their skin was tanned, toned and flushed, as all of the self tanning products came from St. Tropez — natch!

All of the makeup was MAC and the idea was to create matte skin with big brows, bright cheeks and minimal eyes. For details on all of the products used backstage, just read more
