Amid news that Apple will be upping its production of iPads, Target has announced it will sell the iPad starting Oct. 3. Target plans to sell all six iPad models (16, 32, and 64 GB models with and without 3G connectivity) starting at $500 — the same price as Apple stores and Best Buy locations. There's one additional perk for Target credit card holders, too; the iPad is part of a discount program entitling Target credit card holders to a five percent discount on an iPad purchase.
The retail chain has been beefing up its supply of popular tech goodies, from selling the Kindle to offering an electronics trade-in program. No doubt that the introduction of the iPad to Target shelves will help its holiday sales tremendously. And since Best Buy decided to stock all of its store locations nationwide with iPads too, this holiday season may very well be the season of the iPad!

Hailing from Japan, the Thanko Mailbox Sentry is a device that notifies you when you receive snail mail. A sensor is attached to the inside of your mailbox, and when the box is stuffed with actual mail, it sends a signal to a handset inside your home. If you're waiting for something important, this gadget would certainly cut down the amount of time you spend trudging back and forth to the mailbox, but is it real?
