An ambitious Long Island University student, Chelsea Isaacs, e-mailed Steve Jobs for her class assignment, a story on a new initiative at her college to buy iPads for all incoming students. Isaacs said she didn't expect a personal response from Jobs, but she certainly didn't expect him to personally respond like this: "Our goals do not include helping you get a good grade. Sorry." Thus began the kind of e-mail war that both parties inevitably regret, with an indignant Isaacs calling Jobs out on his lack of "common courtesy."
