Steve Jobs to Enterprising College Journalist: ‘Please Leave Us Alone’

An ambitious Long Island University student, Chelsea Isaacs, e-mailed Steve Jobs for her class assignment, a story on a new initiative at her college to buy iPads for all incoming students. Isaacs said she didn't expect a personal response from Jobs, but she certainly didn't expect him to personally respond like this: "Our goals do not include helping you get a good grade. Sorry." Thus began the kind of e-mail war that both parties inevitably regret, with an indignant Isaacs calling Jobs out on his lack of "common courtesy." Jobs ended the exchange by saying, "Please leave us alone." But Isaacs is the victor here, as she will definitely get an A for exposing Steve Jobs to be a total grump. [Gawker via Runnin' Scared/VV]
