Canapé
A bite sized appetizer consisting of small pieces of bread topped with cheeses, spreads, meats, or vegetables. The savory mouthfuls are usually served with cocktails.
Crackers, pastries or toast may be used as the base. The elegant toppings tend to be higher end: foie gras, caviar, purees, relishes, etc.
We have canapés often here, for parties, birthdays, social meetings, etc. People make different things to top them with, and they´re always delicious.
You can make some with a mixture of smashed boiled eggs and mayo. YUM.
