My wife and I had dinner before going to the Walnut St. Theater. The restaurant was busy, so we sat at the Sushi bar. The decor is uniquely modern and inviting. The Miso soup was very flavorful, and the dressing on the salad was lighter and tastier than other Sushi spots. We had Sashimi which was fresh and excellent quality. The variety was good and the order arrived in a boat which was a neat touch. It was the best Sushi we've had in the three years we've lived in this area. Service was good and we will certainly return!

Great food Not service
The food was great! But the service was terrible. We came in for lunch and was seated quickly, not many customers then. First the waitress looked liked she fell asleep against a wall in the back. We waited over ten minutes for her to wake up and come take our order. We ordered our food and 5 minutes later the waitress came back and said that they had not received their tuna in yet. That can happen but the waite staff should know this upfront. We noticed that other customers that came in after us were getting their salads and main courses before we got ours. We waited to see when the dessert was coming out (We ordered this up front) but had completely finished our meal and needed to return to work. When she finally came back to our table she said that it would be ready soon, but we explained we had to get back to work and to just box it up. It took another 10 minutes to take care of the check. We get back to work and the dessert was only half the normal order. There were not that many people in the restaurant to warrant the time it took. We won't be back!

great spot!
Had a fantastic evening here. Lots of good sushi choices, delicious special rolls, very clean and fresh decor inside, sushi platter comes out very colorful and well presented. Staff is friendly and attentive when needed and plus its a BYO!

Fresh and Deeelish!
HANDS DOWN the best sushi I have had yet in Philly. I have been EVERYWHERE in the city and this has been my favorite. Nice people, great atmosphere and impeccably clean. They will use brown or multigrain rice too!

Amazing sushi
I am quite picky about sushi and when living in other cities used to eat sushi mutliple times per week. However, in Philly I find that there are only a few places in center city with excellent sushi, all of which seem to be pricey (Raw, Haru and Morimoto). However, that is all about to change because living only a block away from Fat Salmon, I am certain that I will be getting take out from them at least 1-2 times per week. The sushi is excellent and priced very reasonably. The staff is friendly and accommodating. Great sushi - for eat-in or take-out and it is a byob!
