Back in June Grub Street reported that Mark Hellyar was taking over the reins at Stephen Starr’s crown jewel Buddakan, and outgoing chef Scott Swiderski, who presided over the kitchen there for twelve years, was stepping down to spend time with his family and figure out what to do next. Well, it seems that slinging pub fare to scads of Penn students at City Tap House is what’s next for the chef - at least in a short term consultant capacity, the Insider reports. With his experience of turning out 450 to 520 dishes nightly that were consistently beyond expectations at Buddakan, Swiderski was natural choice for Tap House chef Al Paris, who is gearing up for an onslaught of students returning to University City.
