Alcove Cafe and Bakery is entering the cocktail war, with plans for Big Bar inside of its charming Los Feliz bungalow. Like The Skippy of mixology, this inside job will serve drinks full of "love" to the cafe and restaurant with a focus on freshness. Syrups will be made by hand, top-shelf liquor will be showcased, and all fruits and herbs will be fresh. This move follows similar embraces around town of the cocktail craze, like the new list at Nick and Stef's and The Raymond's recent hiring of the Tello/Demarest team to "create an entirely new cocktail culture." Whether or not Alcove has such inflated ambitions, going fresh and boozy is typically a smart step and should only add to Alcove's appeal for neighborhood residents in the evening.
