Right Dave, who's next?
Dave is on a roll, though so far he’s whacking those we used to call the ‘bedblockers’ (a term coined in the Telegraph by my colleague George Trefgarne back in 2004; irony of ironies, the man who led the backlash against the ‘Notting Hill set’ for raising the issue was none other than Derek Conway).
But as Tim Montgomerie argues in this important post on CH, this is only the beginning. Others must follow. If Hogg, Steen and Viggers must jump, then so should Andrew Mackay. The fate of his former consigliere is the next big test, which may be why Andy Coulson has just had lunch with Mr Mackay, a deux, in the Adjournment restaurant in Portcullis House. I’m told Mr Cameron’s communications supremo was doing lots of arm waving and pointing. Is an announcement imminent?
