About 4300 years ago, in the Central Plains of the Orient, which is in the middle reaches of the Yellow River, the tribal alliance which was led by two great chiefs Yan-Di and Huang-Di, formed a great nation. This nation was named "Hua" which means flowers and beauty. In the 21st Century BC, Qi, the son of Yu who was the great hero of water-control, built the Xia Kingdom. Since that time, the Hua nation had another name "Xia" which means great. So this great nation became known as the name "Huaxia". The people of the Huaxia nation were proud of their country, and called her "the Central Nation", which is called "China" by Westerners now. In the Western Han Dynasty which was created in 206 BC, the Central Nation became one of the most powerful countries in the world. Other nations at that time called the Huaxia nation "Han". So because of this, Huaxia was also known by another name "Han", much the same in history as Greece was naming herself Hellas, but Rome called this nation Greece.
As Max Weber said, when we recall the remote ancient history, we can find many similarities between China and Europe, such as beliefs, hermits, fighting monarchs, political systems, classical poems, and schools' contention of feudal China, were closer to the European society than imperial China.
