Customer Reviews
Well, this is nice.
It's a pleasant surprise to see a podcast that discusses today's anime and its culture run by such witty, smart and sensible people. The hosts, and often times the guests, have been in the industry for quite a while and thusly know the ins and outs thoroughly. Their experience lends an authenticity to the program, and at the same time, their fandom allows anyone who is into anime even moderately to relate to them and the topic at hand. It also helps that there's a heaping of cynicism and humor to make it all even more palatable. This is definitely a podcast that I look forward to every week and would recommend to others.
Smart and funny
Smart, candid commentary about anime and the industry from two dudes (and gals, on occasion) who really know their stuff. But what really makes this podcast worth listening to is the hilarity that results when the inevitable codgery cynicism that lies quietly beneath the surface of every long-time anime fan manifests iteslf in the form of razor-sharp wit, ready to hate on dumb things... which happens especially often with Zac and Justin. It's quite entertaining. Listen!
Cynical humor and nerdiness abound
ANNCast is a very entertaining and informative podcast, worthy of inclusion in most anime fans' podcast subscriptions. It is definitely not the most family-friendly production, but so long as a little foul language doesn't bother you, each episode is lots of fun. Zac and Justin are great hosts, and their weekly guests are consistently excellent contributors to their discussions on all things anime, manga and whatever else happens to tickle their fancy. For any anime fan with a mature, critical mind, this contribution from ANN is a welcome counter to the immature, ignorant trends that now plague anime fandom. I hope it stays in production for a long time to come!
