In a ruined world, sleek and beautiful Casshern must battle both robots and the oppressive weight of his own sins in this dramatic reinterpretation of the original 1973 TV series. A dark and stylish allegory about guilt and despair, it will quickly either fascinate or repel.

Twin Spica GN 3
Friends helping friends, seeking solace wherever it can be found, making up for what was lost—this is what the story is really about. Not wallowing in tragedy, but showing how it can be overcome.

The Tyrant Falls in Love GN 1
Tetsuhiro Morinaga has been in love with his upper-classman for over four years, but it's a bit of a unique case when the object of his affection is a temperamental, high-strung homophobe. It's quickly, and loudly, apparent that this isn't going to be another tale of blushing schoolboys.

Spice and Wolf Novel 2
Although this sophomore installment, which is the basis for episodes 8-13 of the first anime series, is not quite as sharp and fresh as the original, it is nonetheless a solid effort which does everything necessary to hold the interest of those who fell in love with the first book.

A relentless outpouring of misfortune, tragedy and betrayal soaked in end-of-the-world doom and good old-fashioned blood. If that sounds like your definition of good fun, few do it better than this.

Toriko GN 1
Touted by many manga readers lately as the ‘most manly English-released manga’, it's hard to argue the description when looking at this testosterone-laden tale of cooking and killing. Bon appetite!

The Bounts start consuming human souls to empower themselves, and Soul Reapers arrive from the Soul Society to confront them, in these episodes from the middle of the Bount arc. Problems with minimized plotting, weak fight choreography, and artistic consistency abound.

One Piece DVD Season 3 Part 2
This is one of those stretches of episodes that is best appreciated not for what it is, but for what it is setting up.
