The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya DVD 4
It may not be as thoroughly eccentric as previous volumes or have a proper ending, but a wonderful pair of insert songs provides highlights for content with a lot of replay value.

Utawarerumono DVD 6
Not everything turns out well, but a great sense of dramatic timing and a proper conclusion balance out more bittersweet elements in a well-paced span of episodes which wrap up the story in a sensible fashion.

Xenosaga: The Animation DVD 2
But for a certain over-density of plot and a sense that it condenses a lengthy space opera into far too short a space of time, Xenosaga is an easy watch. Plus it's got the galaxy's most dangerous set of abs.

Alive GN 2
The mysteries of the "suicide virus" are starting to become clearer, and the story is definitely going somewhere. Unfortunately, it seems to be getting there at a frustratingly slow pace.

Burst Angel OVA: Infinity DVD
Avid fans of this wild, often silly, mash-up of futuristic mecha clichés, gory horror and spaghetti westerns will be glad to finally have this last episode. For everyone else its more of the same-old, just a little more boring.

Jing, King of Bandits: Seventh Heaven DVD
Trippy, lively, and fun, these three episodes deliver strongly on entertainment value while offering at least a bit of depth. One does not need to be familiar with the TV series or manga versions to enjoy them.

Noein DVD 5
At turns intense, ominous, spectacular, confusing, and even emotional, the final four episodes may slide a bit on writing quality but never get dull. Few will walk away from this one feeling disappointed.

Negima! GN 15
The revelations in this volume reach an epic scale that would make even the Harry Potter world look small.

Kasimasi Sub. DVD 3
After a second volume during which having fun with the characters took precedence, the third volume of Kashimashi gets right down to the business of turning your heart to strawberry jelly.

Gantz DVD 7
Those not bothered by heavy graphic content should find this four episode second-season opener to be a sharp-looking, well-acted volume which continues both the promise and problems posed by previous volumes. If you liked earlier installments then you'll definitely like this one.
