Apple has always been avant-garde in their approach to computing. Back in late 2007, my friend James (the then IT tech at a library I visit) knowing I was a Mac fan, called me into his office to show me his new Mini. The fist thing that caught my eye (or rather, my ear) was how quiet the Lilliputian computer was. I was so excited that I went out and bought one myself. After I got it, I did some research and found that because of their diminutive size, quite a few people have used them in various places - such as in cars (as MP3 jukeboxes or navigation systems).

Microsoft has unveiled a new ad campaign designed to hit Apple where it hurts: In people's wallets. A new ad shows real people trying to buy affordable laptops, and ending up buying PCs rather than Macs because they can't afford high-priced hardware. The campaign even uses jujitsu against Apple coolness, saying that cheap is the new cool.

Microsoft kicked off a new Crispin Porter + Boguksy-produced Ad campaign today with an advertisement aimed at people struggling in a tough economy.
