A rogue commenter on my "fun blog" posted what appear to be some very nice Macintosh netbook images.  While they are unlikely real, they seem to have gotten many people excited about the prospect of a MacBook Mini.

Apple has been making a lot of moves over the past few weeks which seem to indicate that it is trying to speed up the consumption of iPhone 3Gs.

Here are some of the indications that Apple has been offloading iPhone 3Gs:

Apple today announced that the World Wide Developer Conference would be held on the previously predicted dates of June 8th-12th at the Moscone Center in San Francisco.  Since Apple has dropped out of Macworld (and had a paltry showing this year), WWDC is THE event for us Apple watchers.

Microsoft kicked off a new Crispin Porter + Boguksy-produced Ad campaign today with an advertisement aimed at people struggling in a tough economy.  The ad doesn't really focus on Microsoft's software.  In fact, nowhere during the commercial does Vista even make an appearance.  I'll sum up the message for you:

"We allow our software to be installed on really cheap machines"

During today's Blockbuster on Tivo press release, In today's Blockbuster ONDEMAND on Tivo press release, Blockbuster snuck in a little tidbit of information that has the Apple community curious:

Steve Ballmer isn't stupid, but sometimes his opinions seem to rally his opponents more than they help Microsoft and its partners.  He knows his words will get repeated and will flame the Mac vs. PC wars.  This time however, they don't mean that much.

As the days go by after the iPhone 3.0 Announcement Event, we are starting to see that, while Apple showed us a lot, they also left a whole lot more out.

The Apple iPhone 3.0 event tomorrow might have more surprises than are immediately apparent.  Especially in relation to a tablet.  Here's my hypothesis why:

Well, that's a fine surprise for this otherwise boring Thursday.  Apple is going to release the next SDK for its mildly popular iPhone and iPod touch platform next week.  How about that?

Apple, today, upgraded its popular music jukebox software, iTunes, to 8.1. See what they have in store for their customers...

Apple is obviously a little thin in the App Store selection personnel these days. Perhaps they didn't plan for the overwhelming amount of app "applications" that have piled up over the past months. How big is this little App Store? Many think it will be a $1 billion/year business, if it isn't already. Apple might want to spend a little more money to get some more quality people working in the process...

Update (6:06am March 11, 2009): Apple has relented and will let the app into the app store. A little press never hurts!

It looks like someone got their mitts on a piece of technology history over at 1 Infinite Loop. Someone is selling some prototype iPhones with a wacky pre-iPhone type of OS on it. One of the iPhones actually even works. Check out more photos and a description below.

This morning's news that WinTek could be building a Netbook touch screen for Apple set off another firestorm of observations about Apple and its possible curiosity in the Netbook field. Here's what Apple could do:

Cydia and Installer.app have long been on the iPhone, offering a selection of jailbroken Apps for iPhone users who aren't content to stay within Apple's tough boundaries of what it can do. Recent news is that Cydia, and others plan on offering a Paid app service just like the app store. These will obviously violate Apple's terms of service.

But Apple should embrace their customers desires for these "rogue" apps in order to kill the alternative app stores rather than trying to fend them off with legal threats. Here's how:
