Rocco DiSpirito Would Like to Remind You of His Horrible Childhood
3/27/09 at 12:18 PM
Last night at a screening of Showtime's Nurse Jackie, we were complaining to Rocco DiSpirito about the MTA fare hikes. Turns out the chef shuns public transportation! “I haven’t taken the subway in at least 25 years,” Rocco explained. “When I was a kid I used to get mugged on the subway and I’m still afraid of it.” With every interview, Rocco’s childhood sounds worse and worse: “I remember being afraid constantly afraid for my life,” he told the Times last December. He repeated the claim to Page Six Magazine: “I was terrified every single day.” For Rocco’s sake, we hope his home in Murray Hill is within walking distance of … everything.
