Venerable uptown haunt Le Cirque has had its new chef, Craig Hopson, for several months now, and has started hosting press and assorted riffraff for tastings. Grub Street visited last night, chatted up the middle Maccioni son, Marco, and had our way with much of Hopson's new menu. [Admin note: Sirio and Mauro Maccioni, father and youngest son of the clan, respectively, are in Abu Dhabi for an Andrea Botticelli concert, invited to attend by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who is the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi. Word.] Earlier this month we gave you the chef's tasting menu, but now we have the full à la carte, prix fixe, and lounge menus. With such delicacies as fried calamari, mini-cheeseburgers, and a chicken paillard, do note the decidedly dressed-down sensibility of the last.
