Darker Than Black DVD 2 Aside from proving that the series can entertain when it loosens up, this is basically more of what volume one offered: science-fiction intrigue with some surprisingly bloody action and a bit of a mean streak.
Blue Dragon Dub.DVD 3 Shu has his showdown with General Logi in what is definitely the series' best volume to date. Adults will still want to give the series wide berth, however.
Love Quest GN This one is a serious stinker, and the only quest involved in Love Quest is the quest you will angrily embark upon after reading it, in pursuit of better BL.
Bleach DVD 15 Savor the air up here; it'll be eons before the series scales these heights again.
Dragonball Evolution It's as bad as the fans said it would be. Wait, scratch that - worse.
Fushigi Yûgi Genbu Kaiden GN 8 Volume eight is another strong installment to the series, one that begins that slow, inevitable circle back to those aspects of the now classic mythos that fans already know.
Ah My Buddha DVD 1 This series about a Buddhist monk-in-training who gets powered up by seeing bare female flesh clearly wants to be a silly ecchi romp in the style of Ninja Nonsense, but instead ends up being dull, lame, and brainless. Even its fan service cannot justify watching it.
D.Gray-man GN 12 Volume twelve of Katsura Hoshino's ongoing tournament shounen manga D.Gray-man represents a major turning point in the Black Order's ongoing war to end all wars against the Millenium Earl's elite soldiers, the Clan of Noah.
Rosario + Vampire GN 5 This volume is, at best, a transition between one major story arc and the next, filling in the spaces with lightweight romantic entanglements.
