July   Guevara was to be the group's medic, Guevara participates in the military training alongside the other members of the 26J Movement, and at the end of the course, is singled out by their instructor, Col. Alberto Bayo, as the most outstanding pupil
8th July   Ra£l Castro introduces Guevara to the older Castro brother, Fidel, during a fervid overnight conversation, Guevara becomes convinced Fidel is the inspirational revolutionary leader for whom he had been searching
