Eureka Seven DVD 8
This shift in the plot promises plenty of action, yet it also covers some emotional ground that adds new dimensions to the story and its characters.

Hellsing Ultimate DVD 3
The point where the OVA and Gonzo's TV adaptation finally go their separate ways forever. Its an episode that runs like a treatise on why Alucard is cool, complete with gut-crunching violence and Nazis (Nazis!).

Galaxy Angel Rune Sub.DVD 2
Yes, it can be enjoyed, but only in the same way one enjoys cotton candy: sweet and sugary, but empty on the inside.

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya DVD 3
It remains pure fun with a healthy respect for its audience's intelligence...not something readily found in any entertainment format.

Monster GN 10
Settles down for a new arc that will probably delve further into Johan's past, but for now is content with providing simple intrigue. Quality storytelling, even if the relative lack of its main cast is a tad disappointing.

Pumpkin Scissors DVD 1
An idealistic, gung-ho young noblewoman recruits a former Anti-Tank Trooper into a military unit devoted to war relief in a promising, sharp-looking new offering from Gonzo and AIC.

Le Chevalier d'Eon GN 1
As a stand-alone read it offers plenty of graphic supernatural fare and an interesting visual style but little depth. Comparing it to the anime is like comparing a rough draft to the polished final product.

Karin DVD 3
Little of their content could be called fresh, but these episodes nonetheless find a nice balance between comedy, light drama, and sentimentality. Ending on a cliffhanger, with the next volume in doubt, does suck.

The Super Dimension Century Orguss Sub. DVD 1-2
A fun little giant robot lark that never takes itself too seriously and never devolves into complete frivolity, there isn't a whole lot to Orguss outside its entertainment value, which is hardly a damning criticism.
The Third: The Girl with the Blue Eye DVD 2
The annoyingly unnecessary narration remains, but otherwise this offering delivers four more episodes of quality entertainment. If you weren't sure about after the first volume, this one should sell you on its merits.

Wings of Rean Sub.DVD 1
Aimed squarely at those with a Pavlovian response to the mere thought of returning to Byston Well armed with all the eye-popping luxuries of modern animation. Though, given the price, even the droolers may be tempted to just wipe their chins and move on.
