Milan Foundation

WHO WE ARE

Milan Foundation was founded on February 20th, 2003 thanks to determination of A.C. Milan, as the club has always been active and sensitive in helping people in need, with a sound, reliable and recognisable structure that supports activities intended to promote social welfare with a constant awareness of the fundamental importance for the well-being of all the community.

OUR PROJECTS

Since its inception, Milan Foundation has supported 30 projects, raising proceeds of over 2 million euro. A number of the completed projects are listed below:

Fondazione Milan For Unicef: over 17.000 children vaccinated against the six killer diseases in Congo. Filippo Inzaghi awareness campaign for cardiopathic children together with the World Association for Cardiopathic Children. Reconstruction and expansion of the Accident and Emergency ward of the De Marchi Pediatric Clinic in Milan: expanding the working area from 120 mq to 600 mq, supply of cutting-edge equipment guaranteeing the young patients precise diagnosis and effective treatment.

Reconstruction and expansion on an asylum in the Marè community of  Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. Colaboration with the Perfetti Van Melle agency to support the Gol de Letra Brazilian association which takes care of the educational and cultural development of children and young people from socially-disadvantage backgrounds. Building of a new playground for the “Lega del Filo d’Oro” Association in Ancona that operates to assist, educate, rehabilitate and reinsert back into the community those who are deaf-blind and have multi-sensory problems.

MILAN FOUNDATION FOR THE HOLY FAMILY HOSPITAL OF NAZARETH

The 2006/2007 season sees Milan Foundation involved in a new project to construct a new Neonatal Intensive Therapy unit in the Holy Family Hospital in Nazareth. The hospital is a well-loved institution for the whole population of Nazareth and Galilee: it is an uniting force in a region dominated by division and violence, as it opens its doors to all religions and nationalities. Another difference with the Holy Family Hospital is that it offers free assistance and care to Arab residences in the territories not occupied by the State of Israel so they do not need to turn to state benefits. This is another reason why, since 2001, the Holy Family Hospital has become a strong symbolic establishment, a model of quality service and organisation of work for the diverse ethnic groups present.

The Milan Foundation project is part of a plan to extend and develop the structure to meet the growing number of children (Holy Family carries out an average of 180 births a month) who are born with complications that need immediate attention who otherwise would have to be transferred to other hospitals outside Nazareth. The project will be coordinated by the Hope Onlus, which is an Italian organisation created to offer specialist scientific and organisational support to the Holy Family Hospital.
