Republic of Macedonia, put forward its candidature for President of the 62nd Session of the General Assembly of the United Nations in 2002, in the framework of the Group of Eastern European States.

The Government of the Republic of Macedonia, on September 10, 2006, announced the nominatation of Dr. Srgjan Kerim, for the candidate for President of the 62nd Session of the General Assembly of the United Nations.

The Macedonian Government attaches great importance to the work of UN and firmly believes that Dr. Srgjan Kerim, if elected, will contribute positively to the work of UN, especially of its General Assembly.
 
 
The Government of the Republic of Macedonia released the decision on the candidacy of the Republic of Macedonia.
 
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Macedonia, H.E Antonio Milososki, sent a letter to his colleagues of the Group of Eastern European States.
