Ghost in the Shell DVDGhost in the Shell DVD
A landmark in animation technique and technology, and a pop-culture breakthrough in the understanding of artificial intelligence. If you haven't already dished out the money for Innocence, why not spend it on the original first?
Fushigi Yuugi DVD 2Fushigi Yuugi DVD 2
... a surefire shoujo formula ... if you ever get sucked into a fantasy world, just collect enough bishounen into your man-pile and you, too, can have super magical powers!
AppleseedAppleseed
...every ten minutes or so there is an action scene. An elaborate, memorable, breath-taking action scene. The action scenes alone are well worth the price of admission or the DVD.
Miami Guns DVD 4Miami Guns DVD 4
Miami Guns ... comes up short in everything it tries to accomplish. The result is an ending that's satisfying only because you're thankful that there are no more episodes left.
Midori's DaysMidori's Days
... an ingenious, character-driven comedy ... It's a rare and talented manga-ka who can create a story that's imaginative, hilarious, and touching all in one.
Gad Guard DVD 1
If Gad Guard were being graded on visuals alone, it would be among the higher ranks of action-adventure anime -- but the surface polish will only take it so far before the brain starts to demand more satisfying material.
Gantz DVD 1
...a fascinating series, and while it deserves a better release platform, it’s definitely worth seeing. When all is said and done though, is Gantz really worth getting two episodes at a time?
Martian Successor Nadesico DVD 1
...a "neo-classic" sci-fi series that reclaims giant robots in the name of optimism ... Nadesico still deserves respect for being the snappy comeback to that other giant robot series from the mid-90's.
Panyo Panyo Di Gi Charat DVD 2
Panyo Panyo Di Gi Charat epitomizes everything that Di Gi Charat stands for: cute, silly, mindless fun. If you're sweet-toothed enough to give this confection a try, go for it.
Tenchi Muyo! GXP DVD 6
The sense of humor is surprisingly diverse... but with only a hollow shell of characters substituting for the original cast, this series feels like a mechanical reproduction of things that have gone before.
Gregory Horror Show DVD 1
What really puts Gregory Horror Show in the "experimental" category is the raw visual style. If your idea of anime is shiny hair, vibrantly colored worlds, and epic storylines, then prepare to have those ideas assaulted when you watch this show.
Chrono Crusade DVD 1
The world of Chrono Crusade may be far-fetched, but it's also so concrete that you can't help but believe in it. For creating this unusual flavor of Christian mysticism and choosing 1920's New York as his setting, creator Daisuke Moriyama wins first prize.
Ikki Tousen DVD 1
If you like hot girls, or if you like fighting, or if you like hot girls fighting... there's plenty of that on the Ikki Tousen DVD.
Geisters - Fractions of The Earth DVD 1
In the future, only teenagers will be able to save the world, and the deadliest thing they'll have to save us from is really bad CGI.
