NOGGIN PRESENTS ITS FIRST ORIGINAL SHORT FORM SERIES, "A WALK IN YOUR SHOES," OCT. 25-29

Convergent Elements of Series Link TV Channel and Noggin.com; One Lucky Kid Will "Switch Lives" with General Manager Tom Ascheim and Run Noggin for a Day

New York, NY -- October 18, 1999 - Three months after the successful launch of its first original animated host character (Phred of The Phred On Your Head Show), Noggin presents its first original short form series, A Walk in Your Shoes. This provocative educational program takes two real people from completely different backgrounds and asks them to "switch lives," physically transplanting them in each other's environments while cameras roll. As the subjects express their thoughts and impressions on camera and in on-line diaries on Noggin.com, they learn to appreciate diverse perspectives and get a first-hand-look at how people of different backgrounds see the world. The episodes air within The Phred On Your Head Show, MON.-FRI. OCT. 25-29, 5:30 & 8:30 P.M., ET.

In the premiere, 12-year-olds Megan McCaleb and Lacey Ankenman switch lives: City kid Megan tries life on Lacey's Oklahoma cattle farm, while country kid Lacey moves into Megan's Tribeca loft apartment. The TV series features intermittent on-screen textual highlights of the on-line diaries (posted on Noggin.com), and the Web site contains photos and audio clips from the television series. In addition to providing the viewer insight into the minds of the subjects, they also serve Noggin's commitment to on-line and television convergence.

Subsequent episodes include 10-year-old Jared Carey's switch with grandmother of two Pat Russiano: While he works in her Rehobeth Beach candy factory, she tries life as a kid again as a camper at his Delaware summer camp. And 13-year-olds Amanda Thompson and Alexis Ayala trade places: Pennsylvania suburbanite Amanda flies as an aerialist in Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey Circus while Alexis, accustomed to hanging by her hair forty feet in the air, hits the ground as a YMCA day camp C.I.T.

To add to the excitement, Noggin is sponsoring A Walk In Your Shoes sweepstakes. One lucky viewer between the ages of 6 and 12 will star in the next A Walk In Your Shoes installment-when they will be flown to New York to run the Noggin TV and on-line network for a whole day while General Manager Tom Ascheim travels to their home town and takes their place in their school classroom. In this special day-long episode, Tom and the lucky kid will wear webcams that will broadcast continuously to Noggin.com, and their activities will be featured hourly on the television channel. Noggin will also sponsor a live on-line chat with both the kid winner and Tom, who will discuss what they learned. To enter, kids must get their parents' permission and submit the reason they want to be the Head of Noggin for a day. Entries will be accepted from October 25 to November 29, 1999.

Noggin, the first ever thinking network for kids, launched February 2, 1999. Exploding the boundaries between television and on-line, Noggin is a unique interactive network aimed at kids 2-12 from educational children's TV pioneers Nickelodeon and the Children's Television Workshop. Its breakthrough mission is to serve kids' natural desire to learn by creating a place-- on television and on-line-- where learning is driven by them. Using "What Sparks You?" as a slogan, Noggin celebrates kids' natural excitement for learning by asking kids themselves to help shape the network's agenda and steer its content.
