Leeds United and Brentford played out a goalless draw at Elland Road in a match that lacked any real quality going forward.

Brentford weren’t a million miles away from taking the lead inside 10 seconds when Raya’s long ball from kick-off broke for Ivan Toney, whose spinning volley flew wayward of goal, but provided an early warning for the home side.

Neither side really managed to create any clear-cut opportunities though, but both were getting into good areas throughout, creating hope for either side to seize their moment in the second 45’.

It was the Whites who picked up some momentum at the restart, with Aaronson, Rodrigo and Gnonto testing David Raya between the sticks.

Bamford and Sinisterra were introduced as the game went on as Leeds searched for an elusive goal and the two combined with some good build-up play through the middle, but the ball got caught under Sinisterra’s feet at the crucial moment and the chance fell away.

In the end, a 0-0 draw was probably about the right result, despite Leeds providing more danger in the second-half.
