Union Pacific Station, Las Vegas, 1940-1970.
Designed by H. L. Gogerty, this Streamline Moderne station replaced the 1906 Spanish style depot. It was demolished in 1970 to make way for Union Plaza Hotel & Casino. Photos c. 1958 via Vintage Roadside and ElectroSpark.

(2) Northwest: Corner of N. 1st & Ogden in the foreground. The former Block 16 clubs the Arizona and Pastime can be seen on North 1st.
(3) North: City Park, Federal Building (Mob Museum) at Steward & 3rd.
(4) Northeast: 4th & Ogden to Frenchman Mtn.
(5) East: Fremont St at 4th. El Portal Theatre in the foreground. El Cortez and Sears in the distance.
(6) South: City Hall, Palace Theatre, and Market Spot on the corner of South 2nd & Carson. Market Spot was gutted by fire on 7/8/56 and demolished shortly thereafter.
